Amigurumi Collection/ Colección de Amigurumis

I'm so sorry I didn't write in all these days, but I had a terrible cold and spent a complete week in bed!!!

When I started crocheting, I only made amigurumis for other people, and never made any for myself. When there was someone that wanted to see some of my work, I had to show them only pictures, since the only amigurumis I had were the first I made (that are not what we call beautful) and also some amigurumis I've received in Swaps and stuff. So, one day I decided to make a couple of amigurumis for myself. And now I have a lot!!

Here's a picture of them (of course, these are all the amigurumis I have, not all of them were made by me). The ones in the top and in the second shelf were sent to me by other girls (except for the little white seal and the squirrel.

By the way, my boyfriend and I made this kind of "shelf" to have the amigurumis. I had them all over the bedroom and was all the time moving from one side to the other.

So, here they are, I hope you like them. (You can also see Blondie on the pic)

___________________________________________________________________

Squirrel Pattern

This is one of the first amigurumis I made. I don't think it's so cute, but I'm sure if you make it, you will have a great result.

In case you make it, please show me what you did!! I would love to!!

The final height is about 10 cms (4 inches), but it will depend on the kind of yarn you use. :)
Also, you can use the colour you want. I used white because I was asked to do it white :D

What you should know:
st=stitch
sc=single crochet
sl st= slip stitch
dec=decrease (crocheting two stitches together)
ch=chain

Let's start!

Head:
Make the magic ring, or make 2 ch (depending on what you prefer the most. I prefer the magic ring)
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the ring (or in the second ch).
Round 2: 2sc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (sc in next st, 2sc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6 times (24)
Rounds 5 to 9 (5 rows): sc in each st (24)
Put eyes between rows 5 and 6
Round 10: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Stuff head
Round 11: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
Round 12: dec each st around (6)
Fasten off. Do not leave a tail because you'll attach the head to the body by using the body's tail.
Embroider nose and mouth (you can use the colour you want)

Body:
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the ring (or in the second ch).
Round 2: 2sc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (sc in next st, 2sc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, 2sc in next sc) repeat 6 times (24)
Round 5: sc in each st (24)
Round 6: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 7 and 8: sc in each st.
Round 8: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times (12)
Round 9: sc in each st.
Stuff.
Embroider lines in the back. I made about 4 vertical lines.

Ears (make 2):
Round 1: work 4 sc in the ring (or the second ch)
Round 2: sc in each st.
Leave a long tail.

Tail:
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the ring (or in the second ch).
Round 2: 2sc in each st around (12)
Round 3: (sc in next st, 2sc in next st) repeat 6 times (18)
Round 4: sc in each st (18)
Round 5: (sc in next 7 st, dec in next 2 st) repeat 2 times (16)
Round 6: (sc in next 2 st, dec in next 2 st) repeat 4 times (12)
Round 7: (sc in next st, dec in next 2 st) repeat 3 times (8)
Round 8: sc in each st (8)
Round 9: (sc in next 2 st, dec in next 2 st) repeat 2 times (6)
Round 10: sc in each st (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail.

Legs:
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the ring (or in the second ch).
Round 2 to 4: sc in each st (6)

Arms:
Round 1: Work 6 sc in the ring (or in the second ch).
Round 2 to 5: sc in each st (6)

Sew everything as shown in the picture and voilà!

My kittens

I would like to introduce you my two cute babies. There are some facts about them

Blondie is a Calico Cat. She'll be 4 years old in August.

She doesn't like tickles, but LOVES catnip. She recognizes the sound of the pot where I carry it, and gets crazy!
She purrs a lot when she's kneading a blanket full of flowers she has, and after that, she sleeps right next to my head.
She loves my laser pointer, so we use it for playing some days.
She also loves to speak with moths, flies and birds.
She doesn't like when people touch her feet or tail.
She will let you rub her belly ONLY under certain circumstances: only when she wants.
When she was younger, and not spayed, she was so thin!
Now, she's just a nice rounded ball.I love her belly!
She loves when I whistle!

INVISIBLE SANDWICH?

Amélie came home when she was 2 and a half months. She and her brother had been abandoned in the street by some stupid heartless person, and she was rescued by an animalist group.

They uploaded her picture to their Facebook page and when I saw her I fell in love and decided to change her live.
Now she lives with us and spends all day with her older sister :D Next week, she'll be 5 months old.
She loves me to rub her belly, unlike Blondie, and she's always following me wherever I go.
She loves small dolls, and anything made of paper. She has this small bunny my niece gave her, it's like 4 cms (1 inch and a half) and she carries it in her mouth.
She also speaks to moths and flies.
She is so furry and looks as if her grandmother was a Persian LOL :D

She's a big fan of "Maru", the cat that loves to be inside any kind of boxes xD Here you can visit its blog (some things are in Japanese)

Well guys, that's all about my cats! If you want to make any question, just ask!

Thanks for reading!

Getting Started

Once again, I'm trying to start a Blog.

I'm like those little girls that receive a small diary as a present and start writing with excitement... But after a week or two, they get bored and never pay attention to it. The last news 'bout it is that the diary is:
1) Sadly abandoned among all the other girl's diaries from other years.
2) Being stolen by some badass brother (that after discovers you haven't written anything)
3) Being eaten by the dog
4) Being peed by the cat
5) and so on.... BUT NEVER FULL OF WORDS!

It happened to me a couple of times, but Now I'll try to write all the time.
I will also try to share some amigurumi patterns with you, and some tips.
I decided to start it because of a question a nice amigurumi maker made me in Deviantart. She (this is her dA) makes cute amigurumis!!! you should visit her!!

I've seen some girls that have some "games" for their blogs.. maybe that would be nice for me, 'cause I like that stuff and I think I might be able to keep myself busy answering it.

Right now I'm waiting for the people at the University to call me and tell me when will my final exam be. I'm a translator and interpreter in English and French (My mother tongue is Spanish, but I rather write in English 'cause it's more universal. Lo siento, amigas, si no hablan inglés :( (I said, Sorry girls, if you don't speak English). But I finished that years ago. Since trnaslators don't get good jobs, you just have to find another way, and that's how I made a one-year course to become an Executive Assistant. Anyway I hate it. Actually I don't like the idea of being inside an office all day long, with no life and no sleep :( Anyway, I think I'll have to work like that. I have no choice.

I'll also try to post every amiguruchallenge I have. You must be asking yourself 'what's an amiguruchallege'? Well you all should know that sometimes, when you make your own amigurumi (I mean, without a pattern), you can find some of them very "challenging", so, voilà, it's an amiguruchallenge.
I've had Many of them, because I make commissions (only in Chile ---> Credit card issues) and there are some excentric people that ask me to do some special things.
I'd like to show you some of the amiguruchallenges I had had to make.

For example, this Betty Boop Amigurumi:

Actually, it was a HUGE headhache, I mean, LITERALLY, because of her HUGE and WEIRD head. And especially because I was starting. But finally, she came out very beautiful!! :D And it was big! it was like 16 inches (40 cms).

Well, guys, I think that's it by now!. I promise (YES!!!) I'll be back very soon!!
And I promise next time I'll come with a nice Pattern!!! :D

Cheers!!!
